Alphabet Practice for Toddlers & Preschoolers

Happy Thursday everyone! As parents, we are always trying to find ways to teach our kids and make sure they are as prepared as possible for school. I am a strong advocate for play as the main source of learning for young children. During my Master’s program, time and time again, play proved to be the driving factor for academic development. I stay home with my two children and sometimes putting a t.v show on is the easiest thing for me to do. I’m trying to break this habit and come up with new and fun things for us to do. I know that my daughter loves painting, coloring, drawing, getting into things, going outside, and many other activities that most kids her age enjoy. It fosters exploration, discovery, imagination, and curiosity. As I try to provide her with as many opportunities for rich play as I can, I want to expose her to letters, colors, and numbers before she enters pre-k 3 next year!

I created an alphabet page for each letter of the alphabet. You can grab it at my TPT store right here!

I created this product for parents and teachers to use with their kids in a few different ways:

  • Print out the pages, laminate them, and let your kids use colored dry erase markers to color, trace, and write.
  • Print out the pages, let the kids use crayons/markers to color, trace, and write.
  • Use foods, such as cheerios, goldfish, raisins, etc to trace the letters (food is a great reward!)

If you think of another way to use this, please let me know!!
