I never thought that I’d be able to do it. A dream I thought was impossible. I was a full-time teacher with a 14 month old and I found out I was pregnant again. I can’t even tell you how many times I asked my husband, “Do I have to go back to work?” I knew how it felt leaving a 4 month old home to go back to work. I DID NOT want to do that again. Luckily, as a school teacher, the county gives their teachers up to two years of unpaid leave with a guarantee that they’ll get a job back. This post is to 1) explain how I became a work at home mom and 2) give you ideas on how YOU can be a stay at home or work at home mom.
Knowing that I’d be out of work I brainstormed all of the ways I could make money. I decided that I would start a Before and Aftercare. I was planning on having a few kids come to my house in the morning, putting them on the bus, and getting them off the bus at the end of the day. This way, I could spend all day with my kids. This didn’t work out for me, but I think it’s a great option for others!
Then I found VIPKID, an online teaching platform. See my post HERE to read about VIPKID. I am able to teach online from 5:30-8:00am and make enough money to contribute to my husband’s income. If you have a bachelor’s degree and have worked with children in some sort, apply here! If you shoot me an e-mail at kaylaraenelson26@gmail.com I will work with you through the hiring process.
